Page 2 of 2 Opera comes in one, nice, self-extracting executable that is roughly 4 megabytes in size, and can be downloaded in just a few seconds if you're lucky enough to have broadband, or are not sharing an internet connection with a pedophile who is downloading porn. This file can be downloaded right from their website, or if you're too lazy, by clicking here. INSTALLATION Installation is the same as any other program. Upon double clicking the installation file, you will have to follow several steps that will aid installing the program onto your computer. The entire process will take about 30 seconds to a minute on most modern computers. I won't even provide screenshots or more information for the installation process as it is the same for every program. Besides, I already have it installed on my computer and forgot to take screenshots of it. GETTING STARTED Once you have Opera installed, you're ready to download porn... I mean browse web pages. Upon double clicking the newly placed icon on your desktop, or where ever you decided to put the shortcut to the application, the program will begin to load. Loading time will vary deping on a number of factors that are specific to your computer. KEY FEATURES What makes Opera a lot different than most other browsers is simply the amount of features that are packed into Opera, which is now free - Without ads. Opera Software goes into detail about what the latest version of Opera has to offer here, but a quick run down that I find to be the most useful and important features are: Tabbed browsing This allows you to place all open webpages into one easily managed window. No longer will you have to worry about closing multiple windows when someone walks in on you while looking at porn. This helps to clear up your taskbar while performing multiple tasks online. Built-in popup blocker Again, Opera comes equipped to benifit the pedophile, or porn connoisseur. The built-in popup blocker will help block nearly all popups that you will encounter while out on the web. This will help reduce clutter while browsing websites, as well as reduce the risk that you put your computer at while browsing certain sites. The only downside to enabling this feature in Opera is that most pages that have java script embedded in them will no longer diplsay correctly if you so choose to block all pop ups. Integrated search for Google, Amazon, Ebay, and other major web sites Personally, I found the integrated search feature in Opera to be one of the best features that a true Geek can get. The built in search features eliminates the need for going to your favorite search engine. Instead, all you have to do is type in your search term while at any web pages and you'll be taken to the results to your term in seconds. The "Wand" to help you fill out forms with common information The wand is able to "remember" common information that many forms request on a frequent basis. Though this is not required to operate Opera, you can provide the program with your first name, last name, phone number, and various other pieces of information in order for the program to fill out the information for you the next time you come accross a form. Some of you out there might think this is a bad idea because the government is out to get you and they implanted a bug in your computer to send out your personal information, such as your zip code to pedophiles and preists accross the globe.A powerful zoom feature This feature espcially comes in handy when you are using a higher resolution and you like to sit back in your seat and relex while reading through hate mail - Like me. This features allows you to increase and decrease the size of everything within your browser window including images with the press of either the "+" key for an increased view, or the "-" key to zoom out. You can easily return to the normal zoom level by hitting the "*" keyMany special features when highlighting a word and right clicking on it This may come in handy for many of you who don't have a good vocabulary. Highlighting a word, and then selecting "Dictionary" from the drop down menu will automatically take you to a page that defines that word for you. The list goes on. It's simply mind boggling how they can offer as many features as they do, yet still keep it free. They must be selling drugs in order to cover their costs! |
