The Earth is roughly 4 to 6 billion years old. Hey, that's not bad, that only leaves us with about a 2 billion year margin of error! The Earth should last for about another 6 billion years before the sun decides to swell into a Red Giant and incinerate the entire planet into nothing, possibly ending the human race and everything else that's on Earth at that time. Mars will probably escape. 6 billion more years until our time is up, and what are we doing to prevent that from happening? Well... we're helping to destroy our planet before it can destroy us! In another 50 years, we're all going to hell!Earth's population will be forced to colonise two planets within 50 years if natural resources continue to be exploited at the current rate, according to a report out this week.
A study by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), to be released on Tuesday, warns that the human race is plundering the planet at a pace that outstrips its capacity to support life. All natural resources will be used up, any gas that is left will have to be swallowed in order to smuggle it out of Iraq, where the person carrying the gas in his or her stomach will have their stomach ripped opened for the precious gas within. Yes, desperate times call for desperate measures. Not only is gas going to become a problem, but the fight for sanity and common sense will also be a war that one nation will have to overcome. Can you imagine if more than one country possessed something as powerful as "Common Sense" or "Sanity"? It would cause an all out "Intellectual Winter" between the two world powers. The outcome would not be horrific.
But let's not be silly, that's a full 50 years away, and a lot of us reading this will be dead within 30, perhaps 20 considering the risks that we take when we breath, blink, eat, or even brush our teeth. What do we care about what we do to the Earth 50 years from now? Should we really care about our children? No. Are you crazy? If we thought about just 5 years ahead we wouldn't do anything that we are doing right now. I'm more concerned about things that are going to happen within the next 5 days, not 5 years, or even 50 years from now.

Things like my neighbor going to the gas station and filling up their 2 and a half ton Ford Excursion or some person in Southern California emptying and then refilling their pool because they were board worry me the most. Not something as stupid and far-fetched as "The sun is going use up all of it's energy in a few billion years and kill us all over and over again". Even stuff like some black kid being beaten for "no apparent reason" or Michael Jackson claiming that he is the latest victim of racial profiling, despite his efforts to be as white as the background of this table that this text is written in. Stuff like that could ruin life as we know it, not something that can ruin someone else's life 50 years down the road from now.
Do you know how much trouble we're in when a white person starts to seriously claim that he was racially profiled because he's black? You have no idea what could be in store for us all within the next 5 years because of this. We're going to have people protesting that God is raciest because black people are more likely to have asthma than white or blue people. Or maybe there will be white people that say the sun profiles when they get sun burn, and the black person next to them doesn't have sun burn. Just think, things could really get out of hand because of this. It's going to be far worse than burning in hell or being eaten by an evil Menorah.
