They say music soothes the savage beast - and I believe it. I've seen it work in real life.

Music has a special quality in life that most other things don't have - the ability to motivate us to do things that we normally wouldn't do without listening to it. Whether the music gets you to concentrate better when you only have three hours to get that ten-page-long paper done or it gets you to work harder because you realize you have even less time to get that paper done, it achieves a goal.

I've been a pretty avid gym goer for several years now and over the years I've gotten tired of listening to the crap that they play at the gym I frequent. I don't want to hear Kelly Clarkson, I don't want to feel like I'm in a coma while I listen to what seems to be the same techno song for the entire time that I'm in the gym, I don't want to listen to some guy talking about capping niggas, and I drew the line after I heard "It's Raining Men" while working out. I need something that will keep me focused and keep me pumped for the entire time I'm at the gym.

After doing several Google searches looking for good songs to listen to while at the gym, I've come to the realization that the majority of people who have created those "Top 100 Songs to Work Out to" lists are fat 16-year-old girls who have never set foot in a gym before. So I set out to create my own list of songs to workout to along with the help of some of the members from The Geek Forums.
